Demo Version 2.0 Update
Patch 2 for the demo is now live!
Please be advised that due to fundamental changes to the game’s scripts and save data, your previous saves will not work in Demo 2.0. We apologize for this inconvenience.
If you notice any new loading screens, this is completely normal and the result of several engine level updates to our game. If you encounter any issues or bugs when playing the demo, please report them using this form. Thank you so much for playing!
⚠ WARNING: Some of the notes below may contain slight spoilers for new content. Please read at your own risk.
Changes
- Replaced the Hound origin with the Exile origin. This brand new backstory gives MC the ability to understand Soulless and unlocks unique insight into certain situations.
- Made significant changes to Leander’s post-tavern scene to better set up his full route and to give him a chance to scope out your room.
- Added unlockable red choices with new content to both Kuras and Vere’s post-tavern scenes.
- Polished all scenes and dialogue with the help of our wonderful editor.
- Tweaked several scenes to keep information and characterization consistent.
- Added new sprite expressions. Leander in particular is feeling a lot more expressive now that his novocaine has worn off.
- Added a short new scene after Leander’s introduction. Please enjoy your stay at the Wet Wick.
- Leander’s club has been renamed to the Adderstone. No, it’s not suspicious at all.
- Added new choices and additional dialogue to Vere’s introduction scene. We hope you enjoy giving him a hard time.
- Added a choice for you to fight the Soulless when you’re reunited in Lowtown, but we really wouldn’t recommend it.
- Added additional dialogue to Mhin’s introduction scene. Everyone deserves a chance to talk about their hobbies.
- Added additional dialogue to Ais’s post-tavern scene. It’s small, but good luck unlocking it.
- Added new content to Vere’s post-tavern scene.
- We’ve given Vere a snack to curb his bloodthirsty tendencies. Now he’s far less likely to turn you into dessert, unless you’re into that.
- Added new background art. Can you find the new locations?
- Added a hotkey: pressing Esc after the “Made in Unity” screen will skip directly to the title menu.
- Updated the Mac readme document to have clearer installation instructions.
- Fixed a bug that caused player variables (background, pronouns) to persist between save files.
- Fixed various typos and visual bugs from the previous demo version.
Known Issues
- Skip mode turns off after a loading screen when set to “Read Only.” Simply turn it back on to continue using skip mode, or set skip mode to “Everything.”
- Bugged interactions between the skip and rewind functions.
- We lowered default skip speed and capped the number of lines that can be rewound to reduce these issues, but they may still occur.
- Please turn off skip mode before trying to rewind lines.
